Dhunuchi Naach Gets a Junior Twist: Nestlé NANGROW Brings Children to the Heart of Durga Pujo

Kolkata, 29 September 2025: Durga Pujo is a moveable feast a celebration in motion. It arrives to the beat of dhaaks, only to add rhythm to celebration. Every pandal transforms into a dance floor where men and women turn and twirl with burning ardour and dhunuchi. Until now, this autumn ballroom belonged solely to adults. But this year, a delightful change swept through the festive air, thanks to Nestlé NANGROW.

Interpreting its proposition “No to Oh with Nestlé NANGROW” through a beloved cultural moment, the brand reimagined the age-old tradition of Dhunuchi Naach. A dance once reserved for grown-ups was reintroduced for the tiniest pandalhoppers. For the first time, toddlers found their place amidst the swirling incense and rhythmic dhaak beats.

A Child-Safe Innovation

To open this cultural playground to children, Nestlé NANGROW unveiled Dhunuchi Junior – a fun, innovative, child-safe dhunuchi designed especially for kids. Unlike the traditional version, Dhunuchi Junior is fuelled by water, making it completely safe for small hands. This creative leap allowed children, alongside their parents, to join the traditional dance and infuse Pujo nights with new joy.

Celebrating the Seven Signs of Growth

Behind this cultural initiative lies a deeper message of nourishment and holistic development. Nestlé NANGROW, fortified with DHA, Whey Protein, Vitamin D and other essential nutrients, supports the seven signs of growth—a reminder that strong traditions and strong nutrition go hand in hand.

Panchami Lights Up Ahiritola

The debut of Dhunuchi Junior unfolded on Panchami evening at the Ahiritola Sharbojonin pandal. As the five o’clock shadow of dusk descended, the streets of North Kolkata brimmed with eager pandal-hoppers. The dhaaks rolled, the lights glowed, and a spectacular dhunuchi naach began. Five children, hand in hand with their parents, swayed to the hypnotic beats, their playful steps drawing cheers from a captivated crowd. Their smiles lit up the stage as much as the festive lamps.

Tradition Meets Tomorrow

Durga Pujo has always been a crossroad of heritage and innovation. Nestlé NANGROW’s Dhunuchi Junior embodies this intersection—where timeless rituals welcome new possibilities. In countless households, the traditional parental “no” to a child’s wish of holding a dhunuchi has now turned into a surprised “oh!”.

The Ahiritola event has set a milestone in inclusivity, proving that traditions grow stronger when shared across generations. With this initiative, Nestlé NANGROW has not only added a playful rhythm to the cultural heart of Pujo but also highlighted the importance of nourishing young lives for a healthier, happier future.

Adding to the festive cheer, RJ Mirchi Mohor joined the celebration, interacting with families and amplifying the joyous energy that marked this unforgettable evening.

This Pujo, as dhaaks beat and dhunuchis swirl, the tiniest dancers have claimed their place in the grand Durga Pujo narrative-turning heritage into a celebration of growth, togetherness, and endless possibilities.
